Default Scanlines Tutorial - Adobe Photoshop

Well Scanlines are a Popular Pattern used as Background to Finish off a Signature and am sure you'v saw what they look like but your probaly wondering How Do You Create Scanlines? Well i'll show you how i Create Mine.

So First off Create a New Document with the Size set as 3x3 Pixels and Click Ok.

Now You obviously want to make your Document Bigger so go to [ View > Fit On Screen ], after you've done that grab your Pen Tool and Make sure the Color Is Black and do what i did Below.

Great! Your Nearly there so lets Define our Pattern so click [ Edit > Define Pattern ], and Name it and Click Ok. Right now you'd want to test your New Scanlines out so lets grab our Signature (If you already Made one Beforehand) and slap on teh Scanlines.

Ooh Yeah if you don't know where to go to add your Scanlines Right Click your Layer then go to Blending Options then Pattern overlay and select your Scanlines Obviously reducing the Opacity till it suits you.

My Result Using a Signature i created for SOTW #3

I use 3x3, but you can use 6x6 if you want.

I rather use a 500x100 scanline picture put in as an object (all you PS users, read: layer). Then I can put some objects under the scanlines and some infront of them. If the sig is transparent - I just cut off the unneeded parts.
